Now that we have quite a bit of a community here, and now that the community is making an effort to get more attention for this issue, I feel a brief word on image and presentation is needed. After all, we will only be taken seriously by the media and other organisations if we present a united and professional front.


When contacting/complaining about your letter to the media or elsewhere please:

- State the facts in a calm manner. Nobody is interested in reading rants or rumours.

Site overhaul

In order to funnel the new recipients past the relevant information before letting them loose on the site, I have changed the landing page for the site. Regulars can click straight through to the site choosing the second option. Also, a separate summary page for press/interested parties has been linked as a third option from the landing page.

Credit where credit is due?

An interesting tidbit from the forums, spotted by zerot:

The stock photos used on the ACS:Law website front page are from the popular royalty-free stock photo site stock.xchng. However, even royalty-free images often have certain license requirements.

Compare and contrast:



The license of this image requires you to notify and credit the owner when using the photo for any public work.

Being Threatened? gets a facelift; ACS website has liposuction

Welcome to the new look of Being Threatened. Hopefully the lighter look and the reorganisation of the information will soothe the minds of people fretting over those pesky claim letters.

It looks like the ACS:Law website has been updated. The contact page still mentions the old address at Hanover Square, oddly enough, but Nicola Beale has been removed:

"ACS Law Solicitors is the trading style of Andrew J. Crossley, Sole Principal."

Alas Nicola, we hardly knew ye. Congratulations on being the one...
